Stay tuned... ![]() PILGRIM SONG is the story of James, a pink-slipped middle school teacher who sets off to trek through Kentucky's Sheltowee Trace Trail. Unhappy with his relationship and place in the world, he hopes to find what is missing in the hills of Appalachia. Along the way, James crosses paths with Lyman and Bo, a father and son who take him in and help him rediscover what he has lost. The film will be shot in Kentucky in the summer of 2011. Martha's previous film, PASSENGER PIGEONS, continues its festival run. ![]() Martha Stephens (writer/director) Born and raised in the hills of Appalachian Kentucky, Martha grew up wanting to create films with the same quiet intensity of Bruce Springsteen's NEBRASKA. A graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Filmmaking, Martha's short student films include ANT HILLS, the story of a small town taken over by imminent domain. Her first feature film, the SXSW award-winning PASSENGER PIGEONS, continues its festival run. ![]() Nick Case (producer) produced Cam Archer's WILD TIGERS I HAVE KNOWN, which premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. Gus Van Sant was the executive producer and TIGERS was distributed by IFC Films. Nick also produced Archer's second feature SHIT YEAR starring Ellen Barkin, which premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival in the prestigious Director's Fortnight section. His other previous work includes Leonardo DiCaprio's environmental documentary 11th HOUR, which premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Nick graduated from Ole Miss with a degree in Marketing. ![]() Ryan Watt (producer) is the executive producer of DAYLIGHT FADES, the latest feature film by Old School Pictures, currently in post-production. He also serves as the Director of Marketing at New School Media Group, specializing in marketing solutions that utilize video and audio production. Securas Consulting Group acquired his technology firm Metro Backup in 2006, where he served as Director of Marketing until late 2008. Ryan graduated from the University of Tennesee-Knoxville with a degree in Marketing. ![]() Adam Tate (producer) is a North Carolina School of the Arts graduate and is currently finishing his Master's degree at the University of Texas at Austin. He has worked for Austin Film Society and Troublemaker Studios. ![]() Alexander Sablow (director of photography) is a fellow graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts. He is currently based in Atlanta and works in the camera department on features and commercials. ![]() Nathan Whiteside (editor) is a native of Wilmington, NC. His resume includes Stephens's PASSENGER PIGEONS, Aaron Katz's COLD WEATHER, and the NBC program "Poker After Dark." He is a fellow graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts and is currently based in Pittsburgh. ![]() Jonathan Wood and Andrew Iafrate (composers) Iafrate scored Stephens's PASSENGER PIGEONS. ![]() Karrie Crouse (writer/"Joan") is currently finishing her Master's degree at Columbia University. She has acted in Stephens's PASSENGER PIGEONS as Annie and in Aaron Katz's QUIET CITY. She just completed production on the short CROSSBAR HOTEL, which she wrote and co-directed. ![]() Timothy Morton ("James") is a filmmaker based in Louisville, KY. His acting credits include Kentucker Audley's TEAM PICTURE and Holy Land and Stephens's PASSENGER PIGEONS. ![]() Bryan Marshall ("Lyman") Bryan previously worked with Stephens as Moses in PASSENGER PIGEONS. ![]() PAPER MOON FILMS is a Memphis-based film production company, co-founded by Nick Case and Ryan Watt, to increase the visibility of talented southern artists. Paper Moon Films produced Kentucker Audley's OPEN FIVE and HOLY LAND which are both currently on the festival circuit.
